First review of Cursed!

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

I’m so excited! I had to share with everyone the very first review of Cursed!

“Jamie Leigh Hansen had a wonderful debut with her first novel, BETRAYED.  With CURSED, the sequel to that first story, she proves she is no one-hit wonder as she delivers a paranormal romance that is even more compelling than its predecessor.”

Politically Confused

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

I know who I’ll vote for. It’s not that. And this may not be the right venue, but it’s mine and I need to vent somewhere. Comments are welcome. I got stuck watching David Letterman after the news. Not something I normally do, but it’s good for a few laughs. Sometimes.

So they’re talking about how stupid McCain is for suspending his campain to get a new job so he can rush back to DC and do the job he already has. Which, if you ask me, is what a person should do. My husband juggles two jobs. How many other people in America have more than on job? And when it comes down to a crisis, you do the one that is more important, right?

But then, I am biased. I hate campaigns. I hate months and months of negative flame wars plastered all over the TV, the news, the internet. I hate all the horrible things politicians accuse each other of because it make a cutting sound bite.

Where is the concren for America and our children? We tell them not to call names or have flame wars and here is all the bullsh*t spewed out on National television by the people we’re supposed to trust to run our government. How many life coaches, psychologists and other professionals say not to surround yourself with negativity? Yet when Americans have time home after the second job and all they want to do is sit and be entertained for a while, what are we forced to see?

Commercials of things we can’t afford to buy, and shouldn’t have to face if our biggest worry is paying our bills, flame wars by people who are supposed to be adults. And if we exercise our right to not watch, to tape things so we can fast forward past the garbage, we get stupid people saying VCRs and DVRs should be outlawed because people are just trying to avoid the commercials. Like the Ted Turner network. Get a clue. If you want commercials watched, put something on that deserves to be watched.

I’d rather see book/movie/game video trailers than another war between Dino Rossi and Cathy McMorris.

You know, it can’t even be calculated how enraged I get hearing so-and-so raised a million dollars for their campaign. For expensive dinners, ridiculously expensive outfits, make-up, an entourage, travel, TV time…blah, blah, blah. Raise some freakin’ money for the National Debt. To save Social Security. To fund a basic healthcare program with real benefits like the freedom to choose alternative therapies.

‘Cause let me tell you, I was told by plenty of doctors there isn’t a medication for my hereditary illness. There’s no testing, no medicine and some quacks actually doubt the validity of physical therapy. Hello? I know what makes me feel better. And you know what, massage has done more to awaken my nerves than any medicine proscribed. And Co-enzyme Q-10? A natural supplement that radically changed my energy levels and therefore got me going.

But I digress.

What have I learned from all the wasted money spent on TV ads? Nothing. I do my research on political blogs and grids. I read interviews where someone else didn’t tell the politician what to say. I check out voting records and news articles. I would learn so much more if they stayed home and updated a My Space or blog. Something free or at the very least, cheap.

I love fall. I hate politics making life even harder. There has to be a better way to campaign.

Just saying.

We have a winner!

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

First, I’d like to thank everyone for stopping by and leaving comments to win a copy of Cursed! Nikki, you’re it!  :)

For anyone else who would like to win a free copy, visit my page at www.MySpace.com/JamieLeighHansen  during this next week and I will be posting another contest. This one not quite so much luck of the draw, or roll of the dice, but more aimed at anyone who has read Betrayed and can answer a question. :)

Stay tuned!

They are so pretty!

So, I’m easy. :) At the suggestion of giving one away, I just had to. I can’t wait to share this story. So, I will draw a winner from the comments to this post over the next week. To help with that, I have a few questions.

 1. Who is Draven?

  2. Who is the worst villain, Kai or his mother, Maeve?

3. What kind of woman should Geoffrey have?
