Fall 2009 TV
Well, it is decided. TV sucks. Soon, we won’t even watch it anymore. Too many of our favorite shows keep getting canceled. Bones and House are still to be decided. I get that those have both been on several years. But Chuck? Dollhouse? Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles? I mean, I get that the CSI franchise has dominated forever, but the problem is that they are judging on an outdated system.
Ratings should no longer be based on what show someone watches at a certain time on a specific date. The public is no longer chained to their recliners. We’ve moved beyond VCRs and TiVo to DVRs and, even better, watching it online. At our convenience. And if we’re really busy for a few months, we skip TV all together and just by the box set when it comes out.
This issue has ticked me off so many times. Dark Angel, Firefly, Roswell, etc. They need to revamp the system or it won’t be script writers who go on strike but, instead, TV viewers.
We have more options for our entertainment now. Movies, DVDs, box sets, music, video games, books, blogs, and good old fashioned backyards with BBQ pits, firepits and sprinkers. They should quit canceling good shows we love (Chuck, Dollhouse) before we cancel watching their networks.
What show of yours is on the bubble or being canceled? How do you feel about it?
